OS/2 VOICE sucht nach Free- und Shareware fЭr ihre VOICE 2002 CD fЭr die Warpstock 2002 in Austin/Texas. Original englische Nachricht:

OS/2 VOICE is looking for Shareware and Freeware for the VOICE 2002 CD - North American Edition, which will be released at Warpstock in Austin, TX.. Submissions of Shareware and non-GPL/OSS software may only be made by the authors themselves. Submissions of GPL/OSS software may be made by any individual, license permitting. Inclusion of software in the CD will be on a first come - first serve basis. The window for submissions is open immediately and will be closed on 20 September. Submitters must provide a copy of the software or an authorized download site. Submitters may, at their discretion, submit an introductory page for their software in HTML format to be included in the CD index.

WPS Extender Nice 4.6 ist frei zum download

Nice version 4.6 ist uploaded auf Hobbes. Jeder kann es von hierladen. Spaeter wird es hier sein.

Das Ausehen des Programms hat sich geaendert, Jetzt siehts aus wie ein extendet OS/2 System Setup. Bugfixes ODIN und SMP support. Hinzugefuegt wurde eine NumLock trigger-function im text mode. Netzwerk ist komplett neu geschrieben, Oeffnen und Sichern Datei Dialoge arbeiten jetzt besser. Auch kann man jetzt die priority von Applicationen veraendern.

Enchanced Setup for Nice. Jetzt wird nach vorherigen INI-file gesucht und ein backup von gemacht. Default setings fuer einfache Installation und verwendung im eComstation Umfeld.

Dieses bedeutet aber nicht das Ende fuer Nice. In der Zukunft - wir wollen Clipboard control mehr flexibleisieren und einfacher zu bedienen lassen, starten von batch-files nach der Logon-procedure, Aenderungen in VIO, etc.

Naechste Version von Nice wird im winter, 2002 oder Fruehling, 2003 kommen

IBM closed support of Linux for Thinkpads

Some time ago, at june, 21 Compulenta has published those note: IBM, has decided no longer to support notebook ThinkPad with pre-loaded Linux-OS. As we can see from letter of Keith Frechette, IBM chief of Linux innovations and supporting team on ThinkPad line. Over 3 years working on Linux products, IBM canceled fund for this project. Frecchette branch is re-formed, he himself is going to find a new job.

1. First fix is Windows 2000 Clients Use Multiple Connections When Mapping Drives to a Single Server. This will hopefully clear up the issue of Win2K clients eating up all workstation connections to a WSeB server. We will investigate this further.
2. Second fix is Stop 0x00000050 Error Message During Copy from OS/2 Clients. This issue occurs because a request from the client (SMB Move) is not handled correctly.
