For those of you that don't know DFSee yet, it is an FDISK-like, display, analysis and recovery tool for disks and filesystems.

DFSee is a command-line and text-only utility (no GUI). This allows usage from simple boot-diskettes for recovery. The package includes an OS/2, Win-NT and DOS version.

DFSee can be downloaded from my web-site, but after evaluation, and for all real use you are required to get a registration. It can be purchased from the Mensys online shop for about US $18.

Version 4.02 updates and fixes:

• New argv/option parser used (recover -u -8.3 -q ...)
• Better scaling in FAT alloc display; show last-used cluster - Fixed find-free BMPRIMARY entry causing create to fail - Fixed HPFS 'fixboot' with wrong superblock contents
• Fixed NTFS 'findroot' when start is no MFT record
• Read-failure msg on OpenDisk (error 31)
• Fixed HPFS delfind for invalid parent Fnode

Registering DFSee will give you the right to use all 4.xx versions and get support plus a reasonable amount of assistance by email.

But even more important, it enables further development of DFSee!

Русский поддерживается полностью. Падения иксовых версий случаются. Баг-репорты приветствуются. Брать все с хоббесов. Это последняя попытка приучить народ к иксовому софту - не будет репортов, отзывов и т.д. можно забыть о последующих портах.

Brian Havard has updated his port of Ogg Vorbis to version 1.0rc2. Ogg Vorbis is an audio compression format similar to MP3 using variable bit rates but free of patented algorithms and fully open source. Quality is at least as high as that of similar MP3s.

The new version features more flexible encoding modes, channel coupling, lower bitrate support, and much more.
