User Interface: More colors - more joy

What happens with User Interface of other OSes?

• Windows goes remove gradients and simplify dialog windows
• Mac OS X - color elements are replaced with greyscale

In other words, the competitors go back from gradients and transparency to simple background and square buttons. (Correct us if you have links)

It's clear that User's data may be complex: 3D, gradients but auxiliary system windows should be simple.

What applications are needed for the resellers of eComStation notebooks and barebones?

• Benchmark tools. The customers want see the comparison marks.
• Good SysInfo utility. We have old SysInfo/2 only.
• Demo applications aimed to demonstrate the power of the system. (apps working in demo mode; video effects / slideshows enumerating eCS features)
• Multimedia center. So novice user can launch standard application (email, browser or setup)
• Simple system setup. Currently eCS setup utilities are located in different "corners" of the system.

The standalone developers can help to the resellers of eCS notebooks / barebones and develop additional tools.

We need something like this:

Tree view of the left, when you click a link, new text is showed on the right.

No need to work with DB, the pages may be loaded from html/php. It would be nice if every page has own URL.
