In my experience, boards with Nvidia chipsets are best left alone if you wish
to install *any* Os for serious general work.
It has to do with the way they implement
their x86 architecture I think - and their
drivers are optimised for Windows only.
Nvidia chipsets are however excellent for
gaming but thats all.
I have found least problems with Intel and Via chipsets while installing OSes like- os2/Ecs/Linux/Bsd/Xp/Win98se-Me/Dos/Unix dont know about Vista as I dont intend going that way.
Either way I have stayed away from Mainboards that have the 'N' designation on them and have had few if any problems on Intel and Via chipsets. |
